FAQ

  • A mobile data terminal (MDT) or mobile digital computer (MDC) is a computerized device used in public transit vehicles, taxicabs, courier vehicles, service trucks, commercial trucking fleets, military logistics, fishing fleets, warehouse inventory control, and emergency vehicles, such as police cars, to communicate with a central dispatch office. They are also used to display mapping and information relevant to the tasks and actions performed by the vehicle such as CAD drawings, diagrams & safety information. Mobile data terminals feature a screen on which to view information and a keyboard or keypad for entering information, and may be connected to various peripheral devices. Standard peripherals include two-way radios and taximeters, both of which predate computer assisted dispatching. MDTs may be simple display and keypad units, intended to be connected to a separate black-box or AVL computer.

  • Fleet management includes commercial vehicles such as cars, aircraft (planes, helicopters etc.), ships, vans and trucks, as well as rail cars. Fleet (vehicle) management can include a range of functions, such as vehicle financing, vehicle maintenance, vehicle telematics (tracking and diagnostics), driver management, speed management, fuel management and health and safety management. Fleet Management is a function which allows companies which rely on transportation in business to remove or minimize the risks associated with vehicle investment, improving efficiency, productivity and reducing their overall transportation and staff costs, providing 100% compliance with government legislation (duty of care) and many more.

  • A technology using GPS and wireless technologies to locate, track and manage mobile field workers and their tasks in real time.

  • Many commercial and government field forces deploy a ruggedized portable computer with their fleet of vehicles. This requires the units to be anchored to the vehicle for driver safety, device security, and ergonomics. Rugged computers are rated for severe vibration associated with large service vehicles and off-road driving and the harsh environmental conditions of constant professional use such as in emergency medical services, fire, and public safety.

  • A rugged computer is a computer specifically designed to operate reliably in harsh usage environments and conditions, such as strong vibrations, extreme temperatures and wet or dusty conditions. They are designed from inception for the type of rough use typified by these conditions, not just in the external housing but in the internal components and cooling arrangements as well. In general, ruggedized and hardened computers share the same design robustness and frequently these terms are interchangeable.

  • Mobile Computing is a technology that allows transmission of data, voice and video via a computer or any other wireless enabled device without having to be connected to a fixed physical link.

  • A carputer or carPC is a category of mobile computer or tablet designed or modified specifically to be installed and run in cars. Originally these were based on industrial personal computer technology, but as smartphones and PDAs have become more powerful, and have included useful technologies like GPS and Bluetooth, they have become the predominant base platform for developing carputers.

  • Vehicle Mounted Computers(Vehicle Mount Terminals) provide industrial-grade computing solutions for Logistic Management, Warehouse Management, Mining Management, and Port Management. The rugged enclosures have no ventilation holes, ensuring that the front and back panels can withstand dust and water penetration. Therefore the vehicle mounted computers also perform great in Port Management. The computer consists of wireless, GPS, and GSM/GPRS modules, which enable computer to be integrated into the industrial-grade computing platforms for real-time data exchange, navigation, and communications.

  • Step 1. Copy the update package to root of SD card
Step 2. Insert SD card to the mobile data terminal, and power on, the system will update automatically
Step 3. When finish updating, take out SD card
